The Phobics Society
The most common phobia is a fear of germs that manifests itself as obsessive hand-washing. We took the classic Department of Health hygiene sticker, added a call to action, and placed them all across Manchester centre...
5,000 stickers were put on surfaces that people had to touch - something that no-one with OCD would be happy doing. The grubbier the surface, the more resonant it made our message.
The campaign lead to an 11% uplift in calls to the Society. It featured heavily on local BBC news, enjoying a 12 minute feature on Look Northwest, the area's regional news magazine. Such airtime was calculated at £380,000 - not bad for a £5,000 project. The idea also picked up Silver at Cannes.
